Neighborhood: KaMilo - Pineapple Hale is within the Mauna Lani resort, close to both Auberge and the Fairmont Orchid Hotels. - The Napua Restaurant is just two miles away. The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven challenging courses all within seven miles of our villa. - A short drive away are six of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii, including Beach 69, Hapuna Beach, and the breathtaking Mauna Kea Beach. - Minutes down the street is the Shops at Mauna Lani, where you can find a supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops, and Queen's Shops. They include groceries, restaurants, and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes, you can walk to the beach in 15 minutes or take a bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000-foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018, it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open, and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike, or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver, and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

Our large family group of 10 really enjoyed the living spaces. We spent a lot of time on the lanai enjoying the breeze and cooking on the BBQ. The large kitchen was fully implemented with every tool we needed to make medium complexity meals. The community pool and hot tub was a huge hit with the kids, though we thought the closing time was a little early. The beds were extremely comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet so it was really easy to oversleep. Close proximity to several of the island's best beaches without a lot of driving.

This home includes FREE Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort passes in 2026.  The Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort was voted the #1 resort in Hawaii by USA Today. Normally, resort passes cost $100/adult and $60/child, but when staying at this home, use for up to 10 people is COMPLIMENTARY with no additional cost each and every day of your stay. This includes use of resort pools, the river pool, waterslides, a hot tub, a saltwater lagoon for snorkeling, lounge chairs, towels, and parking validation for one vehicle. It also includes a 10% discount on Spa Treatments, 10% discount on Lagoon toys, and Cabana rentals. Guests love this resort pass, which gives them the best of both worlds with hotel privileges and a comfortable, well-equipped vacation home.

Children under 5 do not count towards 10 people.

The fourth bedroom features two TwinXL beds that can be combined as a King with a gel topper.

Staying in KaMilo gives you full access to its Recreation Center with fitness equipment and multiple hot tubs and lap pool, freeform pool, and kiddie pool.

Laundry detergent, oxyclean, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, cling wrap, foil, zip lock bags, assortment of spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, popcorn, starter bag of pure Kona Mountain coffee (the good stuff), hand soap, Dove soap bar, high end Float shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, two extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and two paper towel rolls are provided. We have a clean fridge policy, so upon check-in, the fridge does not have any condiments.

Pack 'n Play, high chair, bed rails, toilet-training seat, step stool for little kids, baby monitors, swim belt/vest, kids' kitchen items, full cribs, bike trailers, jogging strollers, and other items are subject to availability.
