Neighborhood: Mauna Lani Resort - Sand Castle Villa is within the Mauna Lani resort, close to both Auberge and Fairmont Hotels. A short drive away are the six (6) of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii, including Beach 69, Hapuna beach and the breathtaking Mauna Kea Beach. - The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven (7) challenging courses all within 7 miles of our villa. - Minutes down the street is the Shops at Mauna Lani, where you can find super-market, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops and Queens Shops. They include groceries, restaurants and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes you can walk to a beach in 15 minutes or bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000-foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018 it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

The photos are what attracted me to this. When we got there it was even better than the photos. The home was spacious and so clean. Well stocked kitchen with all necessities for cooking in the unit. The kitchen table was perfect for meals and games. The couch is super comfortable and they had a great tv in the rooms and in the family room. The outdoor space was wonderful and they provided so many beach toys and helpful items complimentary. The location could not have been any better. We had one item we needed help with while there and the owners responded so quickly and made sure to take care of us. We will be back and would not stay anywhere else. If you have never visited the big island before now is your time to do so. We love mauna launi community and would recommend reading through their guide that Jeff and Suzanne provide it have great insights on what we should do while there

Staying in KaMilo gives you full access to its Recreation Center with fitness equipment and multiple hot tubs and lap pool, free form pool and kiddie pool. You can also take advantage of the clean private beach club staffed with lifeguards and the Na Pua Restaurant just two miles away. Excellent snorkeling in calm waters!
The 4th bedroom with (2) twin XL mattresses can be combined to make a king with topper.
Laundry detergent, oxyclean, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, cling wrap, foil, zip lock bags, assortment of spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, popcorn, starter bag of pure Kona Mountain coffee (the good stuff), hand soap, Dove soap bar, high end Float shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, two extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and two paper towel rolls are provided. We have a clean fridge policy so upon check-in the fridge does not have any condiments.
Pack and play, high chair, bedrails, toilet training seat, step stool for little kids, baby monitors, swim belt/vest, kids kitchen items, full cribs, bike trailers, jogging strollers and other items are subject to availability.
