Neighborhood: Uplands at Mauna Kea - Mauna Kea Dream Villa is only a couple of minutes’ walk to the Wai'ula'ula gated community recreation center and pool. This recreation center boasts an infinity pool that is to die for, and a kids pool for those with little ones. Lay on loungers in the water, enjoy the hot tub spa or cuddle up with your kids on one of the big orbital day beds. The recreation center also has a fitness center with stunning views of the pools and expansive Hawaii scenery. Soft white sand and warm turquoise waters greet you at both Mauna Kea Beach and Hapuna Beach. All beaches in the State of Hawaii are public and provide for public access. - The Big Island and this home have a wide range of restaurants, activities, golf, tennis and shops to enjoy nearby. - A short drive away are the six (6) of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii including Beach 69, Hapuna beach and the breathtaking Mauna Kea beach. The Kohala Coast is a golfer's paradise with seven (7) challenging courses all within 7 miles of our villa. - Minutes down the street is the Shops at Mauna Lani where you can find a supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops and Queens Shops. They include groceries, restaurants and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes you can walk to a beach in 15 minutes or bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000 foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018 it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.
Parking information
- Parking available. - All beaches in Hawaii are public with some parking options nearby. - Abundant parking is available at Hapuna Beach State Park on the south end. - There is limited free public parking at Mauna Kea Beach so it’s good to plan to arrive early for a fun day.

This property is gorgeous, the home is spacious and beautiful, quiet and peaceful. My family enjoyed it, the pool and hot tub was the main feature. Everything about it was amazing! We were blessed to have found such a relaxing, safe, comfortable place for us to enjoy each other. The communication with property owners were great too! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! As a guest of the Wai‘ula‘ula community, you’ll enjoy exclusive amenities designed for relaxation and fun. Take a refreshing dip in the stunning infinity-edge pool, let the little ones splash and play in the keiki pool, unwind in the hot tub, or recharge after a workout in the private fitness center—all just steps from your door.
County Law requires alarms on all ground-level sliding doors that lead to pool area, in order to prevent doors from being left open indefinitely.
The home also has 2 sets of golf clubs for guest use (complimentary): Taylormade Stealth clubs and PING G30 clubs
Laundry detergent, oxyclean, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, cling wrap, foil, zip lock bags, assortment of spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, popcorn, starter bag of pure Kona Mountain coffee (the good stuff), hand soap, Dove soap bar, high end Float shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, two extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and two paper towel rolls are provided. We have a clean fridge policy so upon check in the fridge does not have any condiments.
Pack and play, high chair, bedrails, toilet training seat, step stool for little kids, baby monitors, swim belt/vest, kids kitchen items, full cribs, bike trailers, jogging strollers and other items are subject to availability.
