Neighborhood: Mauna Lani Resort - Wahi Malu is within the Mauna Lani resort, close to both Auberge and the Fairmont Orchid Hotels. This beautiful home is one of the newest KaMilo homes and is only a short stroll to the pools, exercise room, and more. A short drive away are six of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii including Beach 69, Hapuna beach and the breathtaking Mauna Kea beach. - The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven challenging courses all within seven miles of our villa. - Minutes down the street are the Shops at Mauna Lani where you can find supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops and Queens’ Shops. They include groceries, restaurants, and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes, you can walk to a beach in 15 minutes or bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000-foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018 it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open, and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike, or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

This home could not have been more PERFECT for our getaway with our 4 almost adult children. The kitchen was super well appointed for making breakfast and a few dinners at home. We loved having the opportunity to use the great BBQ too. Having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms gave us all of the space we needed to sleep well and get ready for the day. The bed in the primary bedroom was extremely comfortable! The location was GREAT...close to the gym and pools inside the gates of the community, a short drive to the beach club and grocery store, and easy access to the highway to head to Kona, Waimea or Hilo. We truly cannot wait to go back and hope that this unit is available the next time we go to Big Island!

Staying in KaMilo gives you full access to its Recreation Center with fitness equipment and multiple hot tubs and lap pool, freeform pool and kiddie pool. You can also take advantage of the clean private beach club staffed with lifeguards and the Napua Restaurant just two miles away. Excellent snorkelling in calm waters!
Laundry detergent, oxyclean, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, cling wrap, foil, zip lock bags, assortment of spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, popcorn, starter bag of pure Kona Mountain coffee (the good stuff), hand soap, Dove soap bar, high end Float shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, two extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and two paper towel rolls are provided. We have a clean fridge policy, so upon check-in, the fridge does not have any condiments.
Pack and play, high chair, bedrails, toilet training seat, step stool for little kids, baby monitors, swim belt/vest, kids' kitchen items, full cribs, bike trailers, jogging strollers and other items are subject to availability.
If you have a larger group consider renting Beach Club Bliss which is across or Kohala Haven or Flora Paradise that are also nearby.
