KEY Curation Notes

The location within Eagles Nest is a genuine differentiator. The Grape Escape sits in the Overlook section, directly across from the North Pavilion and a quarter mile from Eagles Nest Winery — both walkable. Most Eagles Nest homes require a drive to reach amenities; here you don't. The back gate also provides a shortcut off the mountain without descending to the main gate.
Sunrise views from nearly every room. The family room has floor-to-ceiling windows and reviewers consistently call out the sunrises as exceptional. Multiple guests mention the deck as where they spent most of their time — the views and the fire pit together make it hard to be inside.
Three bedrooms sleep up to 8 across two levels. Main-level king ensuite with private bath. Upstairs: a king bedroom and a queen bedroom sharing a full bath, plus a loft between them with a sleeper sofa and Xbox. Not a cabin aesthetic — reviewers describe it as bright, modern, and notably different from a typical mountain cabin.
Well-stocked kitchen with stainless appliances and granite counters — repeatedly flagged by reviewers as a strong point. Grill on the deck.
Pet-friendly — up to 3 dogs — and the dog park at the North Pavilion is steps away.
Eagles Nest community access included, covering Great Camp (amphitheater, hiking trails, ropes course, mini golf, Epic Chophouse), North Pavilion (pickleball, basketball, dog park, Sportsman's Grille), and the winery. An additional amenity fee applies to all stays.
AWD or 4WD required November through March. Cell reception is limited in parts of Eagles Nest; WiFi is available at the home. No hot tub on-site — notable omission for an Eagles Nest property at this price point.

Our family took our first mountain getaway over the weekend to celebrate both of our daughters' birthdays. The Grape Escape was a beautiful home! We had everything we needed to be cozy in the home and Eagles Nest had loads of awesome amenities. The view from The Grape Escape was stunning, the house was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. Take advantage of the amenities available at Eagles Nest like the Sportsman's Lounge and the winery. Eagles Nest is a very special place! Definitely be prepared for winter weather as things on top of the mountain can be quite different than in town. The crews did an excellent job of plowing the roads and with a little shoveling of the driveway we were able to leave without a hitch. We were actually thrilled that we were treated to the full mountain experience the night before we left with an unexpected snow storm . Also, Banner Elk is such a charming mountain town! Be sure to make reservations prior to visiting as restaurants can get quite

Guests are responsible for supplying their own recreational equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, tennis equipment etc.)

The summer concerts are open to all guests; however, there may be an admission fee for each person and a cash bar for food and drinks.

Eagles Nest is an up-and-coming community, with construction currently going on in several of its neighborhoods. Construction noises may be heard from 7am-7pm Monday-Saturday.

The property is set up for light housekeeping, including linens and towels. We provide a STARTER SET of toilet tissue, paper towels, bath toiletries, dish soap, and trash bags. We provide one towel and washcloth per person that each respective house accommodates, plus a few extra towels if there is a hot tub. The beds are made up with clean linens (except bunks, sleepers, and futons, but linens are provided on site). If you routinely use two towels after bathing, you may need to bring some of your own.

This home comes equipped with a basic set of cookware, sufficient plates & silverware for the occupancy of the home, and basic serving and baking dishes. Most homes do not have unusual items such as crockpots or blenders, so if you’re planning a dish that requires an unusual item, it is best to bring that from your home.

This home is not stocked with cooking oils or spices, hairdryers, condiments, coffee, coffee filters, or food storage items, including plastic wrap or foil.
