KEY Curation Notes

Floor-to-ceiling windows across the main level frame mountain views from the living room, dining area, and both main-floor spaces — the kind of view that earns its keep year-round regardless of season.
Two king bedrooms, one per floor, each with mountain views; the main-level king has a private ensuite with walk-in shower and double granite vanities. The third bedroom offers built-in bunk beds in a twin/twin over twin/queen configuration — practical for families with kids while keeping both king rooms intact for adults.
Dining for 8 at the table plus 3 more at the snack bar makes the main level genuinely functional for a full house, with the covered outdoor deck and gas grill rounding out the outdoor setup.
Located in the Villages section, three minutes from Great Camp and five minutes from the front gate — among the more accessible positions within Eagles Nest for groups who want to use the community amenities daily without a long drive in or out.
Eagles Nest community club privileges are included — amenity fee applies at booking. Winery day passes ($25/person, ages 16+) and concert admission are separate. 4WD or AWD required November through March. Cell service unreliable on Eagles Nest roads. Neighborhood: Eagles Nest - Located in the popular and conveniently located section of the Villages in Eagles Nest, with convenient access to both Sugar and Beech Mountain Resorts. - Gretta’s Getaway is only a 3-minute drive to the Great Camp area in Eagle’s Nest, offering lots of family activities, concerts and a Dollar General store. - The Eagles Nest community offers a wonderful retreat with as much relaxation or adventure as you desire. With the main gate only 5 minutes from downtown Banner Elk, you will have quick access to loads of fun on both Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. Each season presents its own gift, full of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, or just enjoy the comforts of your home away from home. Nearby towns of Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and Boone, home to Appalachian State University, add to the unique flavor and charm of the area. Activities and festivals year- round provide for as much activity as you desire.

Parking information

Guests are not allowed to bring their own ATVs.

Getting to the property

The main roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required from November to March, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in the winter months.

Grettas Getaway was picture perfect, and the neighborhood was well kept and quiet. The house was only a short drive to Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain. Great family vacation spot.

Things you need to know

Eagles Nest is an up-and-coming community, with construction currently going on in several of its neighborhoods. Construction noises may be heard 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday.

There is an amenity fee in order to maintain the luxurious facilities and features in the development.

Guests are responsible for supplying their own recreational equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, tennis equipment etc.)

The summer concerts are open to all guests; however, there is an admission fee for each person and a cash bar for food and drinks.

The home is monitored by security cameras outside on the corners of the house. No cameras monitor the interior.

Please note that all Eagles Nest homes have internet, but some areas of travel may not have cell reception.

All properties are set up for light housekeeping, including linens and towels. We provide a starter kit of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, bathroom toiletries, laundry detergent, and garbage bags. It’s enough for one or two nights, but will likely not be enough to get you through your entire stay. If you are staying for an extended length of time, you should plan to bring some supplies from home or plan to purchase these items at a grocery store when you arrive.

Homes are not stocked with cooking oils or spices, hairdryers, condiments, coffee, coffee filters, or food storage items including plastic wrap or foil. Our homes come equipped with a basic set of cookware, sufficient plates & silverware for the occupancy of the home, and basic serving and baking dishes. Most homes do not have unusual items such as crock pots or blenders, so if you’re planning a dish that requires an unusual item it is best to bring that from your home.

We provide one towel and washcloth per person that each respective house accommodates, plus a few extra towels if there is a hot tub. The beds are made up of clean linens (except bunks, sleepers, and futons, but linens are provided on-site). If you routinely use two towels after bathing, you may need to bring some of your own.

- HOURS: Thur & Fri 4p-10p; Sat 2p-10p; Sun 2p-8p. (Please verify hours directly with the winery, as times may vary seasonally.)

- Please note that all visitors on premises at the Winery must be 16 years or older, with the exception of Sundays. This is strictly enforced.

Guests do not have access to the locked-off portion of the Sportsman’s Lodge, the Fitness Center, or the Wine & Cigar Bar. That is for member use only.

Restrictions

Guests & Occupancy

  • Age requirements: Primary guest must be at least 25 years old and must remain on-site for the full stay.
  • Maximum occupancy: Occupancy limits (including children) must not be exceeded at any time.
  • Guest accountability: The booking guest is responsible for all occupants, compliance with rules, and any damages beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Unauthorized guests: $25 per person per day for exceeding occupancy; may result in immediate removal.
  • Approved use of property: Use is limited to vacation purposes unless prior written approval is obtained. Subletting or assignment is not permitted without written approval.

Events & Noise

  • Events & gatherings: Not permitted without prior written approval; unauthorized events may result in fines, immediate removal without refund, and charges for damages/cleaning.
  • Noise restrictions: Must comply with local noise regulations at all times.

Prohibited Activities

  • Pets: Allowed only in designated homes with prior approval and a non-refundable pet fee. Unauthorized pets: $200 fee + $500 cleaning fee; may require removal or termination without refund. Pets must meet all listing restrictions and be pre-treated for pests.
  • Smoking/vaping: Strictly prohibited indoors; $300 smoke remediation fee.
  • Illegal activities: Any violation of laws or regulations is prohibited and may result in termination of stay.
  • Fireworks & firearms: Strictly prohibited at all times.
  • Fire/fireplace misuse: No burning wood in gas fireplaces. No roasting food in fireplaces. Unauthorized outdoor fires prohibited (fees apply).
  • EV charging: Prohibited unless specifically approved; $500 fine.

Equipment & Amenities

  • Seasonal requirements: (if applicable) 4WD/AWD and/or tire chains strongly recommended November–April; no refunds for lack of preparation.
  • Hot tubs _(if equipped)_: Use at your own risk; not suitable for individuals with infections or open wounds. Must follow all sanitation and usage rules (no additives, glass, or tampering). $500 fee for cover damage; additional fees for misuse or extra cleaning.
  • HVAC & utilities: Some homes may not have air conditioning; no refunds due to weather or lack of AC.
  • Internet/TV/phone: No refunds for outages or service issues. Pay-per-view is prohibited; charges will be billed if used. Long-distance calls must not be billed to the home.
  • Appliances & equipment: No refunds for malfunctions (TV, hot tub, appliances, etc.).
  • Equipment reporting: Issues must be reported promptly; repairs will be attempted but are not guaranteed.
  • Parking rules: Vehicle limits apply; some areas restrict motorcycles, RVs, or trailers. No roadside parking if prohibited.
  • Restricted areas: Locked closets/areas are off-limits.
  • Firewood: Available for purchase ($25/day) with 7-day advance notice.

Checkout & Care

  • Check-in: Begins at 4:00 PM (may vary up to 5:00 PM depending on home/season). No early check-in guarantees or compensation.
  • Checkout: By 10:00 AM.
  • Key return: $25 fee for lost keys.
  • Cleaning expectations: Leave the property in reasonable condition. Bag and dispose of trash, start dishwasher, and place used towels as instructed.
  • Furniture & home care: Maintain cleanliness and avoid unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
  • Supplies: Starter supplies only; additional items must be purchased by guests.

Liability & Disclaimers

  • Accidental damage may be covered under a waiver (not insurance); exclusions apply (intentional acts, negligence, misuse, etc.). Additional charges may apply.
