Perfectly located within walking distance to the entrance gate of Appalachian Ski Mountain, less than ten minutes to either Boone or Blowing Rock and the wonderful shopping and dining experiences in both towns.

Parking information

The main roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March for snow and ice, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in winter months.

We attended a wedding at Appalachian Ski Resort and stayed in the cottage for a couple of days. Everything is brand new, updated, clean and so well put together. This was perfect for our family with an infant and 2.5 year old. The master room was plenty big to fit the bassinet for the baby and the bunk was great for our toddler. We talked about coming back for the ski season and would love to stay at this location again. 10 out of 10 hands down! Oh! And customer service was on point! Our code didn't work when we arrived at 9 PM. With an over tired toddler and hungry infant we were so nervous about someone getting back to us. It's wasn't 2-3 minutes when our call was returned and we were granted access immediately.

Things you need to know

Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night.

Lower level has is a lower height for the ceiling, and it is not centrally heated. There is a fan heater provided for added comfort.

All properties are set up for light housekeeping, including linens and towels. We provide a starter set of toilet tissue, paper towels, bath toiletries, dish soap, and trash bags.

Restrictions

Minimum night stay requirements vary by home and time of year.
Please be aware that some properties are NOT equipped with air conditioning. KEY is not responsible for weather conditions at the time of tenancy, and there will be no refunds or switching of properties due to lack of air conditioning.
A 4-wheel drive vehicle and/or chains and the ability to drive on snow and ice are strongly recommended to get to or from any given property. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRIVE FULLY PREPARED and there will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter. Please do not ask.
The person in whose name the property is reserved will be held responsible for all occupants complying with rental policies, procedures, and restrictions. Aside from normal wear and tear, the responsible party will be responsible for reimbursing the Owner for any damages to the property or its contents during your vacation residency.
Evidence of an unauthorized excessive number of guests will result in an immediate charge of $25.00 per person per day to the credit card on file and possibly eviction. Authorization to allow extra people for gatherings or other short-term events must be obtained in writing. Authorization to rent a property for a purpose other than for a family vacation must be obtained in writing prior to finalizing the reservation.
All equipment in the unit should be in working order. Please immediately report any equipment problems to the office. Every effort will be made to rectify the problem, but we cannot refund money due to mechanical failure.
Please be aware that certain communities have strict standards regarding the number of vehicles at a property. Some areas may not allow motorcycles, RVs, or trailers. You must adhere to these regulations at all times during your stay. Such restrictions, if applicable to your rental home, will be posted on the internet listing.
Any locked closets or other locked areas are reserved for the storage of Owners’ private property. They are not included in this rental.
We are not responsible for items left in rental units. In the event that Tenant leaves behind items of utmost importance, we will attempt to retrieve and return items at Tenant’s expense, but such retrieval cannot and will not be guaranteed.
