Neighborhood: Fairways at Mauna Lani - A short walk or bike ride from Makai Living is the Fairmont Orchid Hotel, the Auberge Hotel, and the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows. - The Napua Restaurant is just two miles away. The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven challenging courses all within seven miles of our villa. - A short drive away are six of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii, including Beach 69, Hapuna Beach, and the breathtaking Mauna Kea Beach. - Minutes down the street is the Shops at Mauna Lani, where you can find a supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops, and Queen's Shops. They include groceries, restaurants, and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes, you can walk to the beach in 15 minutes or take a bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000-foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018, it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open, and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike, or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver, and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

Jeff & Suzanne's place is one of the best Airbnbs my wife and I have ever stayed in. Their home is beautifully renovated and looks exactly like the pictures. The property at Mauna Lani is stunning and a perfect spot for your family. The pool is just 30 seconds away. They have all the beach toys, chairs, and umbrellas you could need, along with bikes for adventuring. There's a high chair and pack-and-play for the baby, so you don't have to bring those along. Oh, and the beds are fantastic! The value for your money is outstanding. I can't recommend their place enough. Thanks for such a great stay.

Staying at Fairways at Mauna Lani gives you full access to its Recreation Center with fitness equipment, hot tub, and resort-style free-form pool with keiki (kiddie) pool.
Laundry detergent, oxyclean, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, cling wrap, foil, zip lock bags, assortment of spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, popcorn, starter bag of pure Kona Mountain coffee (the good stuff), hand soap, Dove soap bar, high end Float shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, two extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and two paper towel rolls are provided. We have a clean fridge policy, so upon check-in, the fridge does not have any condiments.
Pack 'n Play, high chair, bed rails, toilet-training seat, step stool for little kids, baby monitors, swim belt/vest, kids' kitchen items, full cribs, bike trailers, jogging strollers, and other items are subject to availability.
