KEY Curation Notes

Single-level layout at Ainamalu. Four bedrooms, three baths, sleeps eleven across one floor with no stairs. Two primary king suites open directly to the lanai and pool; bedrooms three and four convert between twin XL pairs and king setups and share the third bath.
Private heated pool and waterfall spa. One of the larger private pools in the Paradise in Hawaii collection, paired with a hot tub and a fully covered lanai with outdoor kitchen, BBQ, and dining. Ocean horizon and Kohala Mountain views from the backyard. Per county law, alarms on the ground-level pool-facing sliders will chirp if left open.
Hilton Waikoloa Village resort passes included for 2026 stays. Complimentary daily access for up to ten guests covers the Hilton's pools, river pool, waterslides, saltwater snorkeling lagoon, lounge chairs, towels, and parking. Hilton sells this access at $100 per adult and $60 per child per day. Children under five don't count toward the cap.
Beach and bike kit fully provisioned. Adult, youth, and kids' bikes with helmets and locks for riding to the Kings and Queens Shops, plus comfortable beach chairs, umbrellas, mats, a large wheeled cooler, snorkel gear in multiple sizes, boogie boards, life jackets, and sandcastle tools. Pickleball and ping pong on site.
Hapuna Beach is a 10-to-15-minute drive, not walkable. This is a resort-community home with strong amenity access rather than a beachfront stay. Seven golf courses sit within seven miles for anyone building a tee-time-heavy week.
Baby gear is on hand. Pack 'n Play, high chair, audio monitors, and bed rails are stocked. One fewer thing to fly with.
The pantry starts at Kona coffee, teas, oils, and spices. Plan to provision groceries before you land. KEY.co's grocery delivery can have the kitchen stocked for arrival so the first evening goes straight to the pool.

Location

Inside the destination

Neighborhood: Ainamalu - Sparkling Waters is a new home in the Aina Malu complex. A short drive away are a dozen of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii, including Beach 69, Hapuna beach and the breathtaking Mauna Kea Beach. - The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven (7) challenging courses all within 7 miles of our villa. - Minutes away are the Kings Shops and the Queens Shops where you can find supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops and Queens Shops. They include groceries, restaurants and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes you can walk to a beach in 15 minutes or bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000 foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018 it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

Parking information

- Parking available. - All beaches in Hawaii are public with some parking options nearby.

Getting to the property

We do recommend renting a car while on the Big Island. While you can stay in the resort area with beaches, restaurants, groceries and shops there is so much to explore that renting a vehicle is highly recommended.

Reviews

Rob

This home is in a new development in Waikoloa Beach. The homes are thoughtfully designed, constructed, and maintained. The home is very private, well landscaped and has a lot of lawn space for play. The pool and hot tub are great and the covered lanai has a comfy seating area and dining space, large enough for our 10 member family. The four bedroom home is high quality and well maintained. Bed linens, towels and mattresses were all high end quality. The home provided a great spot for our weeklong Thanksgiving vacation, and exceeded our expectations.
