Our family's stay exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived till our last day. I can’t imagine not coming back. The property itself was stunning. It was impeccably clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a perfect blend of modern amenities and cozy historic charm. As someone who appreciates early American history I marveled at the craftsmanship it would take to build such a structure during the late 1700’s. You can see ax marks detailed into the surrounding hand hewn logs. If those logs could talk, what stories would they tell? The views from the multi storied fort were breathtaking, overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Lure and surrounded by the greenery of the Rumbling Bald mountains. Every morning we ate breakfast on that balcony just to enjoy this most relaxing atmosphere. The location was ideal for both relaxation and adventure. We enjoyed lazy afternoons lounging lakeside playing with the supplied water toys. I became an expert paddle boarder. For those see
