Neighborhood: Mauna Lani Resort - House of Light is within the Mauna Lani resort, close to both Auberge and Fairmont Hotels. A short drive away are the six of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii, including Beach 69, Hapuna Beach and the breathtaking Mauna Kea Beach.  - The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven challenging courses all within seven miles of our villa.  - Minutes down the street is the Shops at Mauna Lani where you can find supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops and Queens’ Shops. They include groceries, restaurants, and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes, you can walk to a beach in 15 minutes or bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000-foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018 it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open, and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike, or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

House of Light was one of the BEST homes we have stayed in thus far! The home is even better than the pictures! The home was extremely cozy, decorated beautifully, and most importantly for us, extremely clean! The house was stocked with everything you may need ranging from kitchen supplies to extra linens/towels. The house is managed by an excellent property management company that has 24/7 support and an amazing team. They provide concierge services which allowed us to order a crib, extra baby supplies for an additional fee. The crib was assembled and setup before our arrival, even with linens! I mean what more could you ask for! We will 1000% be back and would not even consider staying anywhere else! Mahalo! :)

This home includes FREE Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort passes in 2026. The Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort was voted #1 resort in Hawaii by USA Today. Normally, resort passes cost $100/adult and $60/child but when staying at this home use for up to 6 people is COMPLIMENTARY with no additional cost each and every day of your stay. This includes use of resort pools, the river pool, waterslides, hot tub, saltwater lagoon for snorkeling, lounge chairs, towels and parking validation for one vehicle. It also includes a 10% discount on Spa Treatments, 10% discount on Lagoon toys and Cabana rentals. Guests love this resort pass which gives them the best of both worlds with hotel privileges and a comfortable, well-equipped vacation home.

Children under 5 do not count towards 6 people.

Staying in KaMilo gives you full access to its Recreation Center with fitness equipment and multiple hot tubs and lap pool, freeform pool and kiddie pool. You can also take advantage of the clean private beach club staffed with lifeguards and the Napua Restaurant just two miles away. Excellent snorkeling in calm waters!

The third bedroom has two TwinXLs that can be combined as King with gel topper.

An additional Rollaway can be brought for a 7th person (best suited for a child).

Laundry detergent, oxyclean, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, cling wrap, foil, zip lock bags, assortment of spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, popcorn, starter bag of pure Kona Mountain coffee (the good stuff), hand soap, Dove soap bar, high end Float shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, two extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and two paper towel rolls are provided. We have a clean fridge policy, so upon check-in, the fridge does not have any condiments.

Pack and play, high chair, bedrails, toilet training seat, step stool for little kids, baby monitors, swim belt/vest, kids' kitchen items, full cribs, bike trailers, jogging strollers and other items are subject to availability.
