Things you need to know

Restrictions
- Minimum night stay requirements vary by home and time of year.
- Children, toddlers, and infants do count as a person. Please do not book or arrive with more than the maximum or you could be fined from the city and evicted with no refund.
- The credit card holder must be present at check-in with proper ID and the credit card used to book the reservation.
- You may add guests to your reservation as long as the amount of people does not exceed the maximum occupancy stated in the property’s description. Each property has a maximum occupancy and a maximum number of cars.
- If you are going to listen to music while hiking or enjoying the lake, use headphones instead of a Bluetooth speaker.
- No parties allowed.
- Tenants understand that KEY, its owners, employees, and the homeowners are NOT responsible for any injury caused by slipping on snow or ice and that the tenants are responsible for the removal of snow and ice around the doorways and paths to the house and car; that the Released Parties are not responsible for any personal injury or loss or damage to the tenants’ persons or property or to their guests and that the tenants assume the risk to their persons and property caused directly or indirectly from foul, inclement weather conditions, acts of nature, failure of heat, accidents related to fire, heaters, stoves, or hot tubs, tenants’ failure to remove snow and ice around access areas; for any unforeseeable circumstances.
- All trash needs to be taken to one of the City's local trash sites (visitors will be asked to show proof of eligibility such as a rental contract). Or trash must be placed in disposal issued trash receptacles located on the property. Do not store trash outside.
- Before arriving at your destination, please ensure adequate snow removal has occured. The City plows the City streets, but does not remove snow from driveways. Public Works crews begin plowing public streets when approximately three inches of snow accumulates, and continue plowing throughout each winter storm.
- Winter weather is unpredictable. Expect the worst conditions and be prepared by keeping on emergency kit with ice scraper, shovel, and winter clothing in your vehicles.
- Carry chains during the winter months and check local road conditions before traveling. Chains should be in good working order, and the correct size for your tires.
- Cabin must be left neat and in the same basic condition as upon arrival, dishes washed, and cooled ashes from fireplace/barbecue placed into ash buckets.
- Do not move hot ashes as fire may occur. Open fires are illegal and prohibited in the Big Bear Valley.
- Any filming and/or photography to be used for commercial use is prohibited unless all the proper authorizations and permits are obtained.
