Neighborhood: KaMilo - Tropical Breezes Villa is within the Mauna Lani resort, close to both Auberge and Fairmont Hotels. The home backs onto the 11th green of the Mauna Lani course. - The Napua Restaurant is just two miles away. The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven challenging courses all within seven miles of our villa. - A short drive away are six of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii, including Beach 69, Hapuna Beach, and the breathtaking Mauna Kea Beach. - Minutes down the street is the Shops at Mauna Lani, where you can find a supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings. There are three wonderful shopping areas in the resorts: Shops at Mauna Lani, King Shops, and Queen's Shops. They include groceries, restaurants, and retail stores. They are within walking or biking distance from most of our vacation homes. - The resorts were designed to avoid overcrowding the beaches with condo towers and other developments. The gated communities are all set back from the beaches a bit to make sure the beach experience is amazing. From many of the homes, you can walk to the beach in 15 minutes or take a bike ride. - The Kilauea volcano is 90 miles away behind two 13,000-foot mountains and has been very quiet for the last year. Even during the eruption event in 2018, it did not affect our side of the Island. The National Park is open, and it is fascinating to explore, go for a hike, or take an aerial tour. It is part of what makes the Big Island unique and should not be missed. - The Kona (KOA) airport is the closest to the resorts. It is a 25-35 min drive to the vacation rentals. It is an international airport with direct flights from LA, SF, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, San Jose, Oakland, Anchorage, Vancouver, and Tokyo. There are also direct flights to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

We had a wonderful stay at Tropical Breezes Villa in the gated community of Kamilo in Mauna Lani Resort in Kamuela, Hawaii. The house was clean, spacious and with all the amenities you need to make your vacation great. We explored the beaches in the area, with Hapuna and Mauna Kea being our favorite. Having beach chairs, umbrellas, and snorkeling equipment from the house made things so much easier. The house comes with access to community pool, gym, and hot tubs as well as access to the beautiful Mauna Lani Beach Club a short drive away. The A/C stopped working one night and I texted the owner who was extremely responsive and walked me through what could be wrong with the A/C and the issue was quickly resolved. We would definitely stay here again on the gorgeous Big Island.

This home includes FREE Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort passes in 2026. The Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort was voted the #1 resort in Hawaii by USA Today. Normally, resort passes cost $100/adult and $60/child, but when staying at this home, use for up to 6 people is COMPLIMENTARY with no additional cost each and every day of your stay. This includes use of resort pools, the river pool, waterslides, hot tub, saltwater lagoon for snorkeling, lounge chairs, towels and parking validation for one vehicle. It also includes a 10% discount on Spa Treatments, 10% discount on Lagoon toys, and Cabana rentals. Guests love this resort pass, which gives them the best of both worlds with hotel privileges and a comfortable, well-equipped vacation home.
Children under 5 do not count towards the 6 people.
Staying in KaMilo gives you full access to its Recreation Center with fitness equipment, multiple hot tubs and lap pool, a free form pool, and a kiddie pool.
Laundry detergent, oxyclean, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent, jet dry, cling wrap, foil, zip lock bags, assortment of spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, popcorn, starter bag of pure Kona Mountain coffee (the good stuff), hand soap, Dove soap bar, high end Float shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, two extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and two paper towel rolls are provided. We have a clean fridge policy, so upon check-in, the fridge does not have any condiments.
Pack 'n Play, high chair, bed rails, toilet-training seat, step stool for little kids, baby monitors, swim belt/vest, kids' kitchen items, full cribs, bike trailers, jogging strollers, and other items are subject to availability.
