KEY Curation Notes

Four private master suites, each with its own bathroom. King on the main level with deck access and a stone-tiled luxury bath; two queens upstairs with mountain views and private baths; king on the lower level off the second living area. Every adult in the group gets genuine privacy — no hall-bath sharing.
The kitchen is the standout in its class. A 48" eight-burner gas range with dual ovens, farmhouse sink, granite island with seating for four, butler's pantry with wet bar and wine chiller. Reviewers consistently flag it as the best-equipped rental kitchen they've used.
Two full living floors, fully independent. The main-level great room has 20-foot exposed beam ceilings, a stone wood-burning fireplace, and a wall of windows facing the mountains. The lower level has its own living space with a second fireplace and large TV — plus a four-game room (pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, air hockey) and a kids' bunk adventure room that sleeps six children.
Long-range Blue Ridge views from every level. The 8-person hot tub is on the covered upper deck alongside the outdoor dining table and Adirondack seating — consistently the most-referenced feature in reviews. The gas grill is directly connected to the home's propane tank.
Located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, 6 miles from downtown Boone. Blowing Rock is 12 miles; Appalachian Ski Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, and ASU are all within a 15-minute drive. One of the best-positioned properties in the High Country for guests who want to range widely.
The driveway is a slightly sloped gravel road. Worth noting for low-clearance vehicles and for winter arrivals — AWD or 4WD recommended when there's snow or ice on the mountain.

Getting to the property

This home is accessed by a slightly steep gravel road. It is plowed when necessary in winter months, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are highly recommended from November through March, and chains may also be necessary to access the property during these months.

Hidden Ridge was a great choice for our family get together! There were 11 of us and each of us hated to leave. It was easily accessed and the view was spectacular, especially sunrise! The kitchen was large and well appointed with plenty of dishes and appliances. The game room on the lower level and the large hot tub was well used by kids and adults alike! For us, cell service was spotty but the wi-fi was very good and we were able to stream and switch our phones to wi-fi calling. An entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is very close and a very nice Food Lion is just a couple miles away. Easy drives to Boone, Blowing Rock and West Jefferson. Hidden Ridge is a hidden gem!

Things you need to know

Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a fire starter for $25/night.

There are two exterior security cameras mounted on the right and left side of the front porch facing towards the driveway area. No camera views the interior of the home or common gathering areas.

The property is set up for light housekeeping, including linens and towels. We provide a STARTER SET of toilet tissue, paper towels, bath toiletries, dish soap, and trash bags. This is enough for one or two nights, but if you are staying for an extended length of time, you should plan to bring some supplies from home or plan to purchase these items at a grocery store when you arrive.

We provide one towel and washcloth per person that each respective house accommodates, plus a few extra towels if there is a hot tub. The beds are made up with clean linens (except bunks, sleepers, and futons, but linens are provided on site). If you routinely use two towels after bathing, you may need to bring some of your own.

This home comes equipped with a basic set of cookware, sufficient plates & silverware for the occupancy of the home, and basic serving and baking dishes. Most homes do not have unusual items such as crockpots or blenders, so if you’re planning a dish that requires an unusual item, it is best to bring that from your home.

This home is not stocked with cooking oils or spices, hairdryers, condiments, coffee, coffee filters, or food storage items, including plastic wrap or foil.

Restrictions

Guests & Occupancy

  • Age requirements: Primary guest must be at least 25 years old and must remain on-site for the full stay.
  • Maximum occupancy: Occupancy limits (including children) must not be exceeded at any time.
  • Guest accountability: The booking guest is responsible for all occupants, compliance with rules, and any damages beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Unauthorized guests: $25 per person per day for exceeding occupancy; may result in immediate removal.
  • Approved use of property: Use is limited to vacation purposes unless prior written approval is obtained. Subletting or assignment is not permitted without written approval.

Events & Noise

  • Events & gatherings: Not permitted without prior written approval; unauthorized events may result in fines, immediate removal without refund, and charges for damages/cleaning.
  • Noise restrictions: Must comply with local noise regulations at all times.

Prohibited Activities

  • Pets: Allowed only in designated homes with prior approval and a non-refundable pet fee. Unauthorized pets: $200 fee + $500 cleaning fee; may require removal or termination without refund. Pets must meet all listing restrictions and be pre-treated for pests.
  • Smoking/vaping: Strictly prohibited indoors; $300 smoke remediation fee.
  • Illegal activities: Any violation of laws or regulations is prohibited and may result in termination of stay.
  • Fireworks & firearms: Strictly prohibited at all times.
  • Fire/fireplace misuse: No burning wood in gas fireplaces. No roasting food in fireplaces. Unauthorized outdoor fires prohibited (fees apply).
  • EV charging: Prohibited unless specifically approved; $500 fine.

Equipment & Amenities

  • Internet/TV/phone: No refunds for outages or service issues. Pay-per-view is prohibited; charges will be billed if used. Long-distance calls must not be billed to the home.
  • Appliances & equipment: No refunds for malfunctions (TV, hot tub, appliances, etc.).
  • Equipment reporting: Issues must be reported promptly; repairs will be attempted but are not guaranteed.
  • Parking rules: Vehicle limits apply; some areas restrict motorcycles, RVs, or trailers. No roadside parking if prohibited.
  • Restricted areas: Locked closets/areas are off-limits.
  • Firewood: Available for purchase ($25/day) with 7-day advance notice.
