KEY Curation Notes

Not oceanfront — the beach is a 15-minute walk or a 4-minute drive. This is a soundside property in Monteray Shores, a quiet community on the Currituck Sound side of Corolla. The tradeoff is community amenities: a soundfront pier, boat launch, seasonal community pool, fitness center, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts.
Private pool is seasonal: May 15 through October 15 only. Outside those dates the pool is unavailable. The community pool has its own seasonal window as well — both require planning around if pool use is a priority.
Genuinely dog-friendly — up to two dogs at $250 per dog, per week. The fee is charged separately and must be declared at booking. The layout (multiple decks, outdoor shower, ground-level access) is practical for dogs; nearby soundside paths are walkable for morning and evening runs.
The sleeping configuration is layered across three levels. One king suite on the upper level, a queen and a bunk/trundle room on the ground level sharing one bathroom, plus a sofa bed in the den — and two half baths rounding out the layout. With 10 guests and only two full baths, groups should plan bathroom rotations upfront.
A trust and safety fee applies in lieu of a security deposit. The nonrefundable Safely Protection Policy covers the stay. Guest verification through Truvi is also required before check-in. KEY.co can arrange grocery delivery before you arrive.

Guests & Occupancy

  • Primary guest must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to enter into the rental agreement.
  • Occupancy is limited to the maximum number of guests stated in the reservation confirmation or property listing.
  • The primary guest is responsible for the actions, conduct, damages, and compliance of all occupants, visitors, and invitees during the stay.
  • Reservations are non-transferable and the property may only be used for the approved residential stay described in the reservation; commercial use, fraudulent bookings, or unauthorized transfers are prohibited.

Events & Noise

  • Events: Parties and events are not permitted unless specifically authorized in writing.
  • Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 10:00 PM–8:00 AM. Guests must comply with all applicable local noise ordinances.

Prohibited Activities

  • Pets: Pets are not permitted unless expressly authorized in the rental agreement.
  • Smoking/Vaping: Smoking is prohibited.
  • Illegal Activities: Illegal activity, unlawful conduct, fraudulent reservations, dangerous or hazardous items, identity misrepresentation, and any conduct that violates applicable laws are strictly prohibited.
  • Other Restrictions: No parties, unauthorized commercial activity, reservation resale or transfer, tampering with safety devices, hacking or interfering with property systems, scraping website content, or damaging property or amenities.

Equipment & Amenities

  • Amenities _(if equipped)_: Guests may use only the amenities included with their reservation and are responsible for any damage caused during use. Amenity access may be suspended for rule violations.
  • Safety Equipment: Do not tamper with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, sound monitoring devices, security equipment, or other installed safety systems. Common-area video surveillance may be present.
  • Maintenance & Property Access: Maintenance or service personnel may enter the property when requested by the guest, for repairs, emergencies, safety concerns, legal compliance, or scheduled maintenance with reasonable notice when applicable. Staff will knock and identify themselves before entering whenever possible.
  • Equipment Reporting: Report maintenance, repair, replacement, or restocking needs promptly. Emergency support is available 24/7.

Checkout & Care

  • Guests must leave the property in substantially the same condition as upon arrival and are responsible for any damage, missing items, or excessive cleaning required. Repair or replacement costs may be charged to the payment method on file after notice is provided.

Liability & Disclaimers

  • Valid government-issued identification and contact verification may be required before check-in. Reservations may be refused if identification does not match payment information. Background checks may also be required where permitted by law.
  • If the reserved property becomes unavailable, comparable accommodations may be offered. If declined, guests are entitled to a refund of applicable reservation fees, with no additional liability.
  • Guests use all amenities and recreational facilities at their own risk and assume responsibility for injuries or accidents arising from their use.
