KEY Curation Notes

Three-story log cabin set in the private, gated River Ridge community outside Boone — mountain views open in all directions from a large private deck with a gas fire table, and no neighboring homes in sight.
New River access is a 0.4-mile walk from the cabin, with tubing, kayaking, and fishing outfitters nearby. This is a spring-through-fall draw; the riverbank and hillside were impacted by Hurricane Helene and are currently off-limits for walking — river access by car remains available at Green Valley Community Park and Todd Island Park.
The basement game room includes a pool table, air hockey, board games, and a large-screen Roku TV, with a walkout stone patio just outside.
Sleeping configuration spans three floors: main-level queen, upper-level king ensuite, and a basement bunk room with four queen-over-queen bunks. No hot tub on property.
The kitchen is notably well-equipped — granite countertops, five-burner gas range, and everything down to a coffee grinder, blender, and pancake griddle. Starter supplies (paper products, soaps, a few detergent pods) cover roughly one night; KEY.co can arrange grocery delivery before arrival.
Winter driving: 4WD or AWD is recommended November through March, and chains may be required during severe weather per local town policy.

- This beautiful three-story log cabin is located on the outskirts of Boone in the beautiful private community of River Ridge. Located just seven-miles to Boone and 15-miles to Blowing Rock, this property is the perfect home base for your next visit to the High Country. - Just a short (four mile) walk away, guests can view the New River. - You can access the New River by car at the Green Valley Community Park or Todd Island Park just a short drive from the cabin. The New River is perfect for tubing, kayaking, fishing, etc. There are several outfitters nearby that host tubing and kayaking trips and guided fishing trips.

Parking information

While the roads leading to this home are very easy to navigate, guests are expected to have AWD or 4WD vehicles during winter months in case of snow or ice.

It was exactly what me and my family were looking for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved that it was close to downtown Boone. We had everything we needed and plenty of room for us all. I was amazed at how much the kitchen had as far as dishes, pots, pans, coffee cups, glasses and cups. We prepared all our meals there, so it was nice having all that we needed. I would recommend this cabin 1000%.

Things you need to know

Please note that the homeowners have cameras at the property facing the driveway and the heat pump. No other cameras are pointing at the house or on the decks.

All properties are set up for light housekeeping, including linens and towels. We provide a starter set of toilet tissue, paper towels, bath toiletries, dish soap, and trash bags.

Restrictions

Guests & Occupancy

  • Age requirements: Primary guest must be at least 25 years old and must remain on-site for the full stay.
  • Maximum occupancy: Occupancy limits (including children) must not be exceeded at any time.
  • Guest accountability: The booking guest is responsible for all occupants, compliance with rules, and any damages beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Unauthorized guests: $25 per person per day for exceeding occupancy; may result in immediate removal.
  • Approved use of property: Use is limited to vacation purposes unless prior written approval is obtained. Subletting or assignment is not permitted without written approval.

Events & Noise

  • Events & gatherings: Not permitted without prior written approval; unauthorized events may result in fines, immediate removal without refund, and charges for damages/cleaning.
  • Noise restrictions: Must comply with local noise regulations at all times.

Prohibited Activities

  • Pets: Allowed only in designated homes with prior approval and a non-refundable pet fee. Unauthorized pets: $200 fee + $500 cleaning fee; may require removal or termination without refund. Pets must meet all listing restrictions and be pre-treated for pests.
  • Smoking/vaping: Strictly prohibited indoors; $300 smoke remediation fee.
  • Illegal activities: Any violation of laws or regulations is prohibited and may result in termination of stay.
  • Fireworks & firearms: Strictly prohibited at all times.
  • Fire/fireplace misuse: No burning wood in gas fireplaces. No roasting food in fireplaces. Unauthorized outdoor fires prohibited (fees apply).
  • EV charging: Prohibited unless specifically approved; $500 fine.

  • Equipment reporting: Issues must be reported promptly; repairs will be attempted but are not guaranteed.
  • Parking rules: Vehicle limits apply; some areas restrict motorcycles, RVs, or trailers. No roadside parking if prohibited.
